Welcome

Why

The first question. I don’t currently consider myself a writer. I’m a husband, a father, a developer and a number of other things. However I know that I seem to forget things as quickly as I’ve learnt them. I came across an article about using obsidian as a second brain. I have been using notion for some time now, but rarely find myself going back through the material. I’ve read atomic habbits, and I know a point that I’m missing is around accountability. While I was reading this article around obsidian, I noticed the author had made a reference to a youtube video that they had previously posted titled Open Source Knowledge. The main idea around this video is sharing information, your learning journey, making it open to the public. The avenues opening up, having people help you and being able to help others, having your material polished for sharing and ensuring that you know it well all resonated with me.

traversing through a number of links I also came across Ali Abdaal talking about a book writen by Kleon Austin titled Show Your Work. He mentioned that this was the book that got him started. I read through the book (a quick and enjoyable read) and the plot thickened. Maybe the accountablilty could be in the form of the blog. I’ve had this site for long enough, why not start recording my work. This is Why!

So bare with me as I travel through this unknown territory and see if this is a fit for me or not.
